Our SCID institute is a follow-on program to the DACUM training. It picks up where DACUM leaves off and teaches you how to develop components of a competency-based training program. Participation in the DACUM Institute is a prerequisite.

About this Learning Experience
Our DACUM International Training Center is the only provider of SCID training in the world. Through the institute, participants will acquire the knowledge and skills to be able to prioritize tasks and develop competency-based instructional materials.
Prerequisite: DACUM Institute completion is required prior to SCID registration
Audience: Workforce development professionals, including course designers, training coordinators, trainers, curriculum developers, educators, and human resource specialists
Timeline: Approximately 40 hours of instruction over an 8-week timeframe
Format: Asynchronous (does not take place in real-time), self-paced learning experiences available 24/7 as well as synchronous meetings at intervals throughout the institute
Certificate: Digital badge and certificate earned upon completion of online content and submission of required assignments
Institute Features
- Instruction on the activities involved in the design and development of competency-based learning programs including analyzing training needs, identifying existing resources, determining delivery format, and developing assessment techniques
- Engaging online modules that include text, videos, graphics, and self-knowledge checks
- Individual assignments, small-group interaction, and hands-on activities
- Practical application of the SCID methodology to develop the primary elements of competency-based instructional resources, including learning objectives, performance measures, instructional media, and on-the-job training (OJT) manuals
- Extensive instruction, coaching, and feedback from highly-experienced facilitators
- Templates and handouts to use in developing instructional resources
